.IT Domains

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s dot IT ccTLD is very popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building inventive and attractive domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to share it with associates and acquaintances. The domain extension can also be used for a website, which is related to the information technology sector because IT is an abbreviation, which is used worldwide.

As .IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that manages this domain name extension, such a domain can be booked through a 3rd-party company, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can register a .IT domain for no more than 1 year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it after the transfer has been completed. The only condition is that the person booking such a domain has to be located in a member state of the European Union.

Since there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of different areas and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that include geographical areas of any kind are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such 3rd-level domains, though, because they can be registered only by locals.
